What happens when first timers freak out?

My wife (Liz) and I are planning to do a tandem jump this summer for (and before) our 40th birthdays. I was hoping to do a raps but at the moment I am not quite tall enough for my weight. :D
I am excited about doing it as is Liz but she is secretly terrified and I fear that she will freak out and get all hysterical in the doorway of the plane.
Anyway, my question is, What happens when first timers freak out? It must happen occasionally. Do they then sit back down and land with the plane? Once calmed down on the ground do they get to try again or is that it?
Or do you just push em out the door! ;D

From a RAPS perspective, students are never pushed out of the plane (only ever encouraged ....). If they decline to jump then yes, they will land with the plane, with their instructor.

I believe the same principle applies to a tandem jump - i saw a terrified lady come back down in the plane with her tandem instructor just last week - but I'm sure a tandem instructor can give you a better perspective on that.

but just tell yourself, its not fear its excitement!! Go with it, come along and go for it both, you won't regret it ;-0

I just love it when 1st timers (RAPS and Tandem) get down and can't stop re-living the jump with each other, needless to say the packing hall was alive with student excitement.

when i done my raps i was 3rd out and 1st person freaked out in the door so the instructor just got them to sit to 1 side and dispatched the rest of us then they came down in the plane. if you freak out in the plane and don't go there's not many people who want try again so its a hard 1 to answer but i would guess they will let you try once more as you will be paying if you go or not
