Doctor's Certificate advice please
|

I am in the process of getting the doctor form signed. My local GP surgery receptionist has told me that I have to get booked in for a 30 minute medical with a doctor. They wanna charge me £80 !! Is that what all you guys have to do or is there a better/cheaper/or even free way of doing it? Cheers Steve |

Re: Doctor's Certificate advice please
Steve,
Are you over 40?? If not you dont need to bother as you can self declare yourself fit and sign it yourself. If you are then are doctor will have to stamp it. £80 is a bit steep, have you told them what it is for and what the medical needs to be?
Re: Doctor's Certificate advice please
Yes I am 40.
I took the BPA declaration of fitness along and showed them so they are aware of what it is.
£80 is VERY steep for doing diddly squat really.
And it is a TWO MONTH waiting list for a medical appointment. I have got a date in APRIL !!
I just wondered what all you guys do?

I cancelled my doctor's one. At work we have a company doctor who comes in once a week for 2nd opinion interviews with the "workers" who are on long term sick leave.
I popped in to see him, showed him the form and he said "sure, I'll do it".
Did'nt cost me a penny.
